What we install

Tailored energy systems, designed around your home.

How many panels depends on your roof and how much power you use, so we measure both before quoting. Every system goes in on a hybrid inverter, which means a battery can be added on the day or in ten years' time.

Battery storage

Through the day

Where your power actually goes.

Your home takes what it needs first. The spare charges the battery. Only what the battery cannot hold is sold.

Daylight

Not direct sun. It works all year.

Panels

455 W each, direct current.

Inverter

Converts it, then routes it.

Your home

Takes what it needs before a unit is bought.

Battery

Only the spare, stored for the evening.

The grid

What is left is sold, paid per unit.

How we do it

What happens on every installation

The order the work runs in, from the first survey to the handover pack.

01

A full roof check

Covering, structure, pitch and shading, surveyed before a price is put on anything.

02

Roof work first

If the covering needs attention before panels go on it, we tell you at the survey.

03

An electrician in house

Cabling, isolators and the tie-in to your consumer unit, done by our own electrician.

04

Certified and handed over

MCS certification, building regs, monitoring set up and your SEG registration started.

The panels

What goes on the roof

455 W

Per panel

Full black, dual glass, in a slim frame that sits flat to the roof.

22.8%

Efficiency

More generation from the same roof area, which is what decides it on a smaller roof.

30 yrs

Power warranty

Output warranted for 30 years, the panel itself for 25.

In-roof solar panels sitting flush within a slate roofSolar panels being mounted above a tiled roof

Mounting

In-roof or on-roof

The panels replace the tiles and sit flush in the roofline, flashed in like a rooflight. It is the tidiest finish, and what we recommend on slate or on a roof being replaced anyway.

The panels sit on rails above the existing covering, so the roof stays exactly as it is. Faster, cheaper, less disruptive, and usually the right call on a sound tiled roof.

Great service from this firm. They came to look at a gutter repair and said they'd probably be able to do this without charge as it was a quick, easy job. They returned a few days later and fixed the gutter and didn't charge.

Common questions

Will solar panels damage my roof?+

Not when fitted correctly. We survey the roof's condition before quoting, and every fixing is flashed and sealed to the standard we would finish a roof to. If a roof needs work first, we tell you before you spend anything on solar.

Do panels work on slate or older roofs?+

Usually, yes. Slate and older roofs need specific fixings and more careful handling, which is work the team already does day to day. The survey confirms what is possible on your roof.

Which way does my roof need to face?+

South is ideal, but east and west roofs perform well too, often splitting generation more evenly across the day. We model your pitch, orientation and shading and show you the figures before you decide.

How long does installation take?+

Most homes take one to two days on the roof, plus scaffolding going up the day before and coming down after. Your power is off only for one short, agreed window.

Do I need planning permission?+

Most home solar counts as permitted development, so no. Listed buildings and conservation areas can be different, and we check this for you during the survey.
