How much do solar panels cost for a UK home?+
A typical home system is roughly £5,000–£10,000 installed, depending on roof size, panel count and whether a battery is included. We quote a fixed price after a free survey, so there are no estimates that drift.
How much will I save?+
It depends on your usage, roof orientation and whether you add a battery. As part of your quote we model projected generation and savings for your actual roof rather than quoting a national average.
What are SEG export payments?+
The Smart Export Guarantee pays you for electricity you export to the grid. It's paid by your energy supplier, not by us, but we handle the paperwork and help you register at handover.
Do solar panels work on cloudy days?+
Yes. Generation is lower than in full sun, but panels produce power from daylight, not direct sunshine. UK systems are designed around realistic UK weather data.
Will panels damage my roof?+
Not when fitted correctly. Our background is roofing, so the roof's condition is checked before we quote, and mountings are weatherproofed to the same standard as the roof itself.
Do I need planning permission?+
Most home solar is permitted development, so no. Listed buildings and conservation areas can differ, so we check for you during the survey.
Is Mondero Solar MCS certified?+
We work with MCS-certified partners, so your installation is carried out and certified to MCS standards, with the certificate provided at handover. That is what keeps you eligible for SEG export payments.
You are a new company. Why should I trust you?+
Mondero Solar is new, but the people are not. The team has spent years working on roofs across the South East, has trained for solar, battery storage and EV charging, and includes a qualified electrician for the electrical work. Installations are certified by our MCS-certified partners.
Why do your reviews say Radiant Roofing?+
The reviews on this site are Google reviews for the roofing work the same team carried out as Radiant Roofing. They are shown as theirs, and attributed on every review, because Mondero Solar is new and has none of its own yet.
